Zubair SEC Welcomes to its Membership INJAZ Oman’s ‘The Company Programme and Competition’ Graduates

Date: March 14, 2017

With an aim to promote entrepreneurship among youth, for the third consecutive year, Zubair Small Enterprises Centre (Zubair SEC) has signed in eight new members from INJAZ Oman’s ‘The Company Programme and Competition’, earlier known as Sharikati Programme.

The selected INJAZ students, who were earlier interviewed by advisors at Zubair SEC, will receive counselling, training, business development guidance and support by the Centre along with all other services within its ecosystem.

The sign-up ceremony was attended by Shaikh Khalid Muhammad Al Zubair, Managing Director of the Zubair Corporation and Chairman of INJAZ Oman; Khaula Humood Al Harthi, Executive Director of INJAZ Oman; and management representatives of the Zubair Corporation, Injaz Oman and Zubair SEC, along with representatives from all eight companies of The Company Programme and Competition.

Commenting on the collaboration, Khalid Al Zubair said, “Year after year, we are witnessing the development of this important relationship between Zubair SEC and INJAZ Oman. The two strategic partners organically complement the development process of young entrepreneurs moving from the academic stages into the real market arena. We are happy to see how a good number of the Company Programme and Competition graduates in the past years have benefited from their membership at Zubair SEC, be it through the extended advisory services, or the business and product development opportunity that Zubair SEC has facilitated for them.”

“The students’ journey in The Company Programme and Competition doesn’t end after the closing ceremony, but extends beyond their graduation through partnerships held by INJAZ Oman with local organisations that assist young people and enhance their entrepreneurial abilities,” said Khaula Humood Al Harthi, Executive Director of INJAZ Oman. “We value Zubiar SEC’s efforts and thank them for their continued support of INJAZ Oman’s programmes and students for the third successive year,” she added.

Since 2015, Zubair SEC has signed up 24 graduates of the Company Programme and Competition to its membership, who received diverse advisory services by Zubair SECteam. Additionally, more than 70 INJAZ Oman students have attended workshops on entrepreneurship by Zubair SEC.

Over the last three years, eight workshops on social impact of business and social entrepreneurship were held by Zubair SEC for INJAZ Oman, which were attended by 180 students of the Company Programme and Competition, emphasizing the importance both organisations place on social entrepreneurship and the responsibility of businesses to have an impactful societal role.

Since September 2013, Zubair SEC and INJAZ Oman have been working together and playing a crucial role in developing an entrepreneurial culture in the country. Through their cooperation, both organisations have put in a lot of effort to support and counsel ambitious young Omani entrepreneurs and are keenly looking forward to maintain strong and progressing collaboration to develop young talents into future business leaders.
