The Zubair Entreprises Development Center, (Zubair EDC) one of the Zubair Corporation’s CSR initiative, recently participated to a forum on entrepreneurship and life skills organized by the Ministry of Education. The forum was opportunity to discuss the importance of entrepreneurship skills with teachers and supervisors. The Zubair EDC was represented by Rawan Saif Al Kiyumiyah, business analyst.
As part of her intervention during the forum, Rawan Al Kiymiyah delivered a short presentation to a range of local community teachers and supervisors on the importance of transmitting entrepreneurship and life skills to their students. She reiterated the goal of the Zubair EDC to raise awareness about the role of SMEs in the country’s economic development, and promote the spirit of entrepreneurship to different segments of the population.
Commenting on the forum, Rawan Al Kiymiyah explained: “The Center’s participation comes within the framework of reaching out to life skills’ teachers and supervisors about the importance of entrepreneurship and encouraging them to promote this culture with their students. The Center is committed to sharing its expertise with a range of stakeholders, specifically the teachers and supervisors who participate to the education of our future generation. They are the ones who can transmit the importance of entrepreneurship values and help our Youth develop innovative and successful projects. “
This forum was also the opportunity to showcase the Center’s services which include consultation, skills building, project development, networking opportunities, providing partnerships and supporting young entrepreneurs with contracts and financial issues thanks to the Center’s strategic partners. Some of the supervisors and teachers attending the forum expressed interest in collaborating with the Center to access some of these services. Overall, the forum was a success in providing useful information to teachers and supervisors.
On his part Yasser Al Hamdani a member of Technical Committee in Forum said: ” The Entrepreneurship Forum organized by the Ministry of Education focused on values such as vision, ambition and achievement. Its main objective was to further the knowledge of teachers and supervisors in the field of entrepreneurship, encouraging them to pass on the culture and skills of entrepreneurship to their students. The forum was also a the opportunity for different stakeholders, including the Zubair Entreprises Development Center, to exchange ideas and experience on the subject of entrepreneurship. The Center’s extensive experience of entrepreneurship was an excellent addition to the Forum and proved to be very beneficial for all the stakeholders involved.”
The AL Zubair Enterprises Development Centre (Zubair EDC) is one of the initiatives from The Zubair Corporation’s social responsibility which operates several specialized entrepreneurship programmes and serves as a specialized entrepreneurship advisory center. The Center is keen in building strategic relationships with a number of its strategic partners rom the public and private sectors and the academic sector in order to support entrepreneurship in the Sultanate.
