The Zubair Corporation hosted a dinner for the members of Zubair Small Enterprises Centre (Zubair SEC) at Bait Al Zubair in Muscat, with the presence of Khalid Mohammad Al Zubair, Managing Director of the Corporation.
Dinner was attended by a large number of the centre’s members and mentors, as well as representatives of institutions supporting entrepreneurship in the Sultanate, and executive managers from The Zubair Corporation.
The aim of the dinner gathering is to strengthen communication between Zubair Corporation’s management and the Zubair SEC’s community and further recognize and enforce the ecosystem that the Centre is creating for its members. The event also presented an opportunity for members to network, get to know each other better, and meet with the mentors and other supporters of Zubair SEC, whether within The Zubair Corporation or from other partners.
In his welcoming note, Khalid M. Al Zubair emphasized the strong belief that The Zubair Corporation’s shareholders have in Omani entrepreneurs, and renewed the Corporation’s commitment towards supporting and promoting this vital sector. He encouraged attending members to put all their effort to achieve their business goals and contribute to a significant economic era in the Sultanate’s socio-economic growth and sustainable development. Furthermore, he encouraged members to collaborate within the different business areas they work in, to be able as a sector to present more comprehensive services to the market.
Two of Zubair SEC’s active members shared with the attendees their story in entrepreneurship and what made them decide to go through this route. They also emphasized the importance of having supporting centres like Zubair SEC in the success of any entrepreneur.
Zubair SEC is one of the initiatives which emanated from The Zubair Corporation’s Social Responsibility strategic vision towards the Omani society. The vision reflects the corporation’s belief in the importance of small enterprises (SEs) in enhancing the national economy and contributing to sustainable socio-economic development. The centre comprises a team of socially engaged and business savvy advisors who put all effort to contribute to leveraging the Omani community through equipping and enabling entrepreneurs and start-ups to grow with their businesses in a sustainable and responsible manner. Since its launch in 2013, Zubair SEC has joined to its membership 120 small businesses and around 175 entrepreneurs from all sectors of the economy to benefit from its services and support.
