The Zubair Corporation Holds Entrepreneurship Workshop for Qurayat School Students

Date: March 5, 2015

In cooperation with Outward Bound Oman, The Zubair Corporation conducted a workshop for a number of students who recently participated in Outward Bound Oman program, which was supported by the Corporation. Presented by specialists from the Zubair Small Enterprises Centre (Zubair SEC), the workshop aimed to introduce concepts of entrepreneurship and social responsibility within the youth.

In line with The Zubair Corporation’s efforts in spreading the awareness of entrepreneurship and social responsibility through Zubair SEC, the team of the Centre participated with two presentations in the workshop. Lina Hussein, Communications Manager Zubair SEC and External Relations at Zubair SEC discussed the social and environmental challenges faced by individuals and institutions when they are starting their own business. This was followed by Adel Al-Hubaishi, Business Consultant at Zubair SEC, who discussed the dreams and aspirations of young people in Oman, and how to achieve them, giving numerous examples of successful projects within the SME field in the Sultanate.

Commenting on the success of the workshop, Adel Al-Hubaishi, Business Consultant at Zubair SEC said: “This was a great opportunity to meet with aspiring students. I have noticed through the meetings how much this generation can grasp concepts related to entrepreneurship and apply them based on their knowledge and their education level.”

“The Zubair Corporation is always keen to spread awareness about entrepreneurship among the youth of Oman, therefore we conducted this workshop where we discussed themes of entrepreneurship and social responsibility to the students in a simplified way. We also gave them practical examples and experiences to make the concepts easy to understand for the students.” He added.

Sultan al-Jabri, Operations Manager at Outward Bound Oman, added, “We appreciate The Zubair Corporation’s support for the second year. Their financial support to the Youth at Outward Bound Oman is a good example of investing in future generations to enhance their capabilities for the future. The Zubair SEC workshop was a good opportunity for the youth, who are in fact benefiting from these CSR initiatives, to increase their knowledge of a number of SME projects and the possibilities that an entrepreneurial path can offer.”
