Zubair SEC member Al Qabas Dental Centre launches new dental clinic

Date: June 6, 2016

Winner of the Zubair Small Enterprises Centre (Zubair SEC)’s Direct Support Programme for the year 2016, Zubaida Hamood Al Harthy, launched a new dental clinic “Al Qabas Dental Centre” in partnership with Sheikha Hamad Al Jabri in Mawaleh South.

Al Qabas Dental Centre was inaugurated by Khalid Muhammad Al Zubair, Managing Director of The Zubair Corporation. The event was attended by a number of officials and executives from the military medical services sector, entrepreneurship supporting organisations, The Zubair Corporation and Zubair SEC.

The new dental clinic has on board a professional team of local and regional dentists. Founder of the clinic Zubaida has many years of experience in medical sanitation at military medical services institutions. During her time there she developed a wide expertise and knowledge relating to best practices in maintaining and managing sanitized medical units. Al Qabas Dental Centre could be the first private centre in the Sultanate that provides a training and workshops hall equipped with High Definition screens connected to the Internet and in which workshops and lectures in dentistry and other medical topics can be held and then recorded at the Omani Centre for Medical Specialties and the Omani Association for Dentistry.

Khalid Muhammad Al Zubair said, “We believe in the importance of extending all possible support to small enterprises and making a significant contribution to help Omani start-ups achieve their objectives. We are delighted that Zubaida could fulfil her dream in starting her own dental care centre and that Zubair SEC has been part of that journey. We need to work collectively to our utmost capacity to assist SMEs in raising their performance to meet the market challenges and requirements.” He added, “I encourage start-up owners to identify market needs and find out the business opportunities they can develop out of those needs, and we will remain of support and encouragement to their sincere efforts.”

Commenting on the occasion Zubaida Al Harthy said, “It is such a thrilling feeling to see a long awaited dream coming true. As an Omani start-up owner I am privileged to be perusing my business objectives at a time that is witnessing outstanding support and attention by multiple public and private organisations. This is a time that we need to cherish and capitalize on the available support and care we are surrounded with.” She added, “I am specifically of utmost appreciation to Zubair SEC for the special care, guidance, and support they surrounded me with and the many privilages I’ve been enjoying through the Direct Support Programme I was selected for last year. I am also in gratitude to many entities and individuals who have supported me and encouraged me till I reached this stage; I wouldn’t have done it on my own.”

Part of the award Zubaida Al Harithy received as member of The Direct Support Programme for 2016 was used to procure medical heavy equipment at the clinic. Zubaida has also been closely working with Zubair SEC advisors regarding marketing and business development strategies and plans.

Zubair SEC’s Direct Support Programme has been providing support and mentorship to high-potential young entrepreneurs and business owners for the last three years. Today it has on board 28 members who have enjoyed several advisory services, financial non-repayable grants, and business development opportunities and support since they joined.

Zubair SEC, which is a strategic social impact initiative by The Zubair Corporation, has today more than 330 members who are entitled to the centre’s advisory and capacity building services along with networking opportunities and business development support.
