Zubair SEC introduces best-selling business book to Omani entrepreneurs

In a move designed to further support and develop SMEs, Zubair Small Enterprises Centre (Zubair SEC), a leading social responsibility initiative of The Zubair Corporation, introduced international best-selling business book to the SMEs community in Oman through an official launch event that was held at Bait Al Zubair on 12 January 2016.

With Zubair SEC positioning itself as a guiding beacon for Omani entrepreneurs and owners of small enterprises, the Centre believes that the move to introduce business best practices and knowledge to the SMEs community will be of much needed value.

As part of this initiative, the Arabic release of the “Value Proposition Design” book, by Alexander Osterwalder, which focuses on how to create products and services that customers want, was launched for the first time in the Sultanate by Zubair SEC.

Zubair SEC has earlier tied up with Jabal Amman Publishers from The Kingdom of Jordan – the producers of publishers of the Arabic release of the “Value Proposition Design” book. The publishers are known regionally for translating and producing best-selling books in Arabic and launching them in Arab countries.

The international bestseller “Value Proposition Design” helps tackle a core challenge of every business — creating compelling products and services customers want to buy.

Stressing that this initiative will help novice entrepreneurs in small businesses learn new skills, Khalid Munammad Al Zubair, Managing Director of The Zubair Corporation said, “the launching of the Value Proposition Design book aligns with our vision and strategy towards diversifying the services and offerings to business entrepreneurs and owners of small enterprises in the Sultanate. Such valuable books that introduce best practices in business administration and entrepreneurship bring much added value to the development journey of entrepreneurs and help enable them through the many useful tools presented by Zubair SEC. This initiative complements the many other services offered by Zubair SEC through advisory one-to-one sessions, workshops, discussion groups, to name a few. This book in specific is considered an important source of knowledge for what it presents of information and practical frameworks that aid business entrepreneurs to move forward in launching and managing their projects and business offerings according to specific standards and essentials for success.” He added, “as part of Zubair SEC’s role in contributing to the development of the SMEs sector, the Centre initiated communication with Jabal Amman Publishers to launch the book in the Sultanate in an effort to enrich the Omani library with one of the most important books in its domain. We are certain that books will guide small business owner in the right path and introduce them to a wealth of knowledge by those who treaded the path before”.

The Centre was also delighted to extend a special copy of the new release to every attendee who joined in the launching event.

The highlight of the initiative was that the Centre has also provided a business development opportunity for one of our members.  As Zubair SEC aims to facilitate business development opportunities for its members, it has come to an agreement with Jabal Amman Publishers that commercial distribution of the book in Oman will be done through one of its members who works in this business. The member to sell the book in Oman was introduced to Zubair SEC partners who attended the launch event, so that they can purchase the book for their members if they will.

The event was attended by a number of distinguished guests keen on the development of the SME sector in the Sultanate, as well as a number of SMEs.
