Zubair SEC engages with SMEs in Dhofar

Zubair Small Enterprises Centre (Zubair SEC) has recently visited the governorate of Dhofar taking part at the discussion panel within the Woman and Industry session titled “My Identity, My Industry”. The session was organised by by Dhofar Centre for Business Women in collaboration with The Public Establishment for Industrial Estates (PEIE).

This visit comes in line with Zubair SEC’s strategy to raise entrepreneurial awareness and extend support to SMEs throughout the Sultanate.

“My Identity, My Industry” session was held under the patronage of H.E. Sayed Mohammed bin Sultan bin Humood Al Busaidi, Minister of State and Governor of Dhofar. Panelists included representatives from the Ministry of Commerce, the Ministry of Manpower, Oman Development Bank, Al Rafd Fund, and Zubair SEC. Attendees comprised representatives of the Al Shourah Council, State Council and various ministries.

Over the two-day visit, discussions were held regarding services offered to and by SMEs, and the general perception of these services. Additionally, an exhibition was held to showcase various services and offerings of some participating SMEs and organisations supporting SMEs such as Zubair SEC.

Zubair SEC’s team wrapped up the trip to Dhofar by visiting a number of shops in Salalah, and extended some advisory to owners of these shops; the team also held a workshop on the importance of brand identity in business.

“As part of the Zubair SEC’s development strategy, we seek diversity in the geographical distribution of our members as well as a wider reach of our efforts to raise entrepreneurial awareness across the Sultanate. As such, we have been working closely with several governmental entities throughout the past two years to reach out to business entrepreneurs and owners of small businesses in many governorates” said Adel Al Hubaishi, Senior Advisor at Zubair SEC. He added: “We were very pleased to meet with remarkable business owners in Dhofar, and notice the commitment and passion for business by women entrepreneurs in specific”.

Today, Zubair SEC has more than 240 members that receive various strategic, legal, administrative, and financial advisory services and enjoy an ecosystem and platform of support to run their businesses empowered by competitive expertise and shared experiences.
