BSA Bin Shabib, Al Rashdi & Al Barwani (BSA), and Zubair Small Enterprises Centre (Zubair SEC) will jointly hold a workshop and legal clinic on January 15. The legal clinic will offer free consultations for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) operating in the Sultanate.
Commenting on the initiative, Mundhir Al Barwani said, “Over the past few years, we have received several legal issues related to emerging enterprises and businesses at BSA. A majority of these legal cases stemmed from the fact that owners were not familiar with the legal aspects and official requirements relating to their area of business or the inability to pay for expensive consultations. It is due to these cases that we came up with the idea for this social initiative, which will help create the perfect platform from which we could offer consultations free of charge, as part of our community activities. In order to carry out this initiative, we have signed a MoU with Zubair SEC – one of the leading support centres in the Sultanate – that has made significant strides in helping small businesses over the past few years.”
Ali Shaker, Advisor – Business Development & Strategic Partnerships at Zubair SEC said, “As part of our continuous efforts to extend diverse services to entrepreneurs and SME owners, we are holding this workshop and free legal clinic for the first time in the Sultanate in partnership with BSA Bin Shabib, Al Rashdi & Al Barwani (BSA), one of the leading legal firms in the region. It is a very good opportunity for SMEs, and we encourage those with business-related legal matters to sign up and make use of the offered services by a team of high-calibre lawyers who have profound experience and understanding of the local context and legal framework.”
The Workshop and Legal Clinic will be taking place on Tuesday, January 15 at Bait Al Zubair and will see the participation of 11 lawyers and legal experts from BSA. They will each offer an average of seven hours of free legal consultation for attendees who own SMEs in Oman. This will total up to 77 free hours of specialised legal consultations.
