A number of Zubair Small Enterprises Centre (Zubair SEC) members were invited to attend a part of the day-two proceedings of The Owners Forum Middle East 2016 which was hosted by Al Zubair Family at Bait Al Zubair in Muscat.
The Owners Forum is a trusted circle of leading family enterprises committed to sharing their expertise and global networks. It connects leading family enterprises in economic cooperation and knowledge exchange.
Early on in the day, Zubair SEC made a presentation on social entrepreneurship in Oman, featuring three social enterprises and socially-responsible businesses – members of Zubair SEC – that stood out for their social impact in the Sultanate: The White Hands Centre for Assistive Technology and Rehabilitation, founded by Aisha Ba’aboud; The Capoera Training Centre founded by Mahmoud Al Oraimi; and Meshan Date Sweets founded by Wafa and Shatha Al Jabri.
The event provided Zubair SEC members a platform to gain exposure to industry insights, access to global expertise, and opportunity to make international business connections.
Four international social entrepreneurs from United States of America, Canada and France, were featured at the forum, introducing their projects and the social impact they are achieving in various countries.
Commenting on the event, Paul Dietze, Co-Founder of The Owners Forum, said “we were very impressed with the Zubair SEC members who we interacted with during the event and congratulate Al Zubair family for their very important Zubair SEC initiative.
Abdullah Al Zubair said, “We were delighted to host The Owners Forum on the second day of their agenda. Featuring some of Zubair SEC members, especially social entrepreneurs, echoed very well amongst the audience who were very interested in the social impact of business, and were impressed by the effort that The Zubair Corporation has been putting towards the development of small enterprises in the Sultanate.”
Attending members of Zubair SEC expressed their appreciation for this opportunity made possible by The Owners Forum, which allowed them to get to meet business leaders from all across the world and learn about many of the leading businesses and social enterprises in the region and globally.
The discussions between people with different backgrounds and experiences who are working in the field of social entrepreneurship were of great help to those who attended the session.
