Members of Zubair SEC take part in the 3rd Business Opportunities Forum

Members of Zubair Small Enterprises Centre (Zubair SEC) participated in the 3rd Business Opportunities Forum organized by the Omani Chambre of Commerce and Industry from 16 to 17 November, 2015 held at Oman International Exhibition Centre. Four members showcased their businesses on the official stand of Zubair SEC, being one of the sponsors of the forum, allowing the opportunity for participants to exhibit and promote their projects.

The forum provided an excellent opportunity for participants to showcase their products and services to major companies and government agencies that attended to review what small and medium enterprises offered to make deals based on their procurement budgets for 2016.

Ali Shaker, Business Adviser at Zubair SEC, said: “The Business Opportunities Forum is an opportunity for entrepreneurs and owners of small businesses to present their products and services to government agencies and leading companies in one place given the facilitated networking space and time.” He added: “It is within the strategy of Zubair SEC, since its establishment, to seize such opportunities to enable our members to make the best out of such events, from a credible platform as the official stand of Zubair SEC that facilitated an abundant communication with major companies. Prior to the forum, we have coached participants on marketing and presentation approaches and best practices to introduce their services and products to the audience of this forum”.

Zubair SEC members that took part in the forum were Muaawana, Asia Food, EnvoIdeal and Victoria Lake; two of which are winners of the Direct Support Programme for 2015 and two are outstanding members of the center.

Yousuf Al Jabri, Managing Director and Co-Founder of EnvoIdeal said: “First we would like to thank Zubair SEC for this encouraging gesture and the continuous support they extend to EnvoIdeal; the attractive stand they invited us onboard as well as the important guidance and advice they provided us with to enhance our marketing pitch, have contributed immensely in presenting our business and services at the forum and God willing we are looking to sign a number of deals with private sector companies soon”.

Mansoor AL Mahrouqi, Managing Director and Partner of Victoria Lake, said: “Participation in the forum was a very good opportunity for small and medium enterprises, where we gained a great benefit and were able to meet with a large number of major and small institutions and introduce our services in a relatively short period of time”.

The Zubair Small Enterprises Centre (Zubair SEC) is a key initiative derived from The Zubair Corporation’s Social Responsibility strategic vision towards the Omani society. The vision reflects the corporation’s belief in the importance of small enterprises (SEs) in enhancing the national economy and contributing to sustainable socio-economic development. More than 300 members from various business sectors joined Zubair SEC since its establishment in 2013, to benefit from the services and support provided by the Centre.
