Zubair Enterprise Development Centre (Zubair EDC) and Oman Oasis Enhance Applied Learning for Majan University College Students

Date: January 1, 2026

As part of a strategic partnership aimed at strengthening the integration of academic education with practical experience, Zubair Enterprise Development Centre (Zubair EDC), in collaboration with Oman Oasis, has implemented a series of applied educational initiatives for students of Majan University College.

This initiative builds on the successful collaboration between the three entities, which has consistently delivered practical learning experiences that enhance students’ skills and bridge theoretical knowledge with real-world application. The partnership reflects Zubair EDC’s commitment to providing comprehensive educational content that supports students both academically and professionally, alongside Oman Oasis’s role in delivering hands-on industry knowledge aligned with market needs.

The programme was designed to enrich the student experience by linking academic curricula with real-world business practices and fostering an interactive learning environment that deepens students’ understanding of the professional landscape. It included a series of dual lectures conducted at Oman Oasis’ offices and factory, offering students insights into the company’s financial and operational frameworks while reinforcing the principles of sustainability.

A dedicated session focused on sustainability fundamentals and key corporate sustainability practices aligned with international standards and Oman Vision 2040 was facilitated by the sustainability team from The Zubair Corporation. The initiative also featured visits by two groups of business students to Oman Oasis’ administrative centre, where they explored financial and operational management models, followed by a guided factory tour showcasing production processes, quality control procedures, and laboratory operations.

Ali Shaker, Head of ESG and Sustainability at The Zubair Corporation, said, “This partnership embodies a shared commitment to empowering students, supporting experiential learning, and strengthening the integration between education and industry. At Zubair EDC, we believe in building strong bridges between academic institutions and the business sector, and we are proud to offer practical learning opportunities that enhance students’ skills and their readiness for the job market. Our ongoing partnership with Majan University College and Oman Oasis represents an effective model for integrating theory and practice.”

Saleh Al Amri, Business Development Manager at Oman Oasis, added, “We are proud of our continued partnership with Zubair EDC and Majan University College, which serves as a successful example of collaboration between education and industry. By connecting students with real working environments, we help equip national talent with applied knowledge that fosters innovation and competitiveness.”

Dr Ammar Al-Balushi, Vice Dean for Postgraduate Studies, Business Development and Innovation at Majan University College, commented, “The partnership with Zubair EDC and Oman Oasis represents a practical model for aligning academic education with labour market needs. This initiative enhances the student experience by linking theory with practical application and providing direct exposure to professional environments, contributing to the development of their skills and capabilities in management and operations.”
