For the second consecutive year, the Zubair Enterprise Development Centre (Zubair EDC) participated in the Industry Advisory Committee dialogue session organised by Majan University College at its campus. The session, held under the patronage of the Dean of the College, brought together college administrators and representatives from several public and private sector organisations.
Representing the Centre, Mr. Ali Shaker, Head of Sustainability at The Zubair Corporation and Acting Director of Zubair EDC, delivered an insightful and valuable contribution highlighting the Centre’s achievements in business consulting, sustainability strategies, and institutional development across multiple sectors.
The dialogue focused on strengthening collaboration between academia and industry, with particular attention to aligning curricula with labor market needs and enhancing graduates’ readiness for today’s competitive work environment. Participants also discussed practical recommendations to support these objectives.
Commenting on the occasion, Ali Shaker said, “We thank Majan University College for the kind invitation and warm hospitality. Our participation reflects The Zubair Corporation’s and the Centre’s ongoing commitment to supporting the education sector and strengthening its connection with the labor market. We emphasised the importance of integrating sustainability principles across all academic disciplines, in line with the priorities of Oman Vision 2040 and the growing global focus on sustainable development.”
Dr. Ammar Al Balushi, Head of the Business Administration Department at Majan University College, expressed his appreciation for the Zubair EDC’s continued engagement, noting that such collaborations strengthen partnerships between academia and industry and play a vital role in preparing skilled Omani talent to drive sustainable growth.
