Ali Shaker, Advisor, Business Development and Strategic Partnerships, Zubair SEC said, “Zubair SEC is already co-operating with Oman Logistics Centre to enhance joint cooperation in supporting SMEs in the logistics sector. Therefore, this was a very pertinent topic to hold a Tajribati session on. The key to success for SMEs in the logistics sector will depend on maintaining a firm understanding of the inherent challenges and finding the most effective ways to provide solutions. The session emphasised that SMEs have a unique advantage in the logistics industry and can create niches in the logistics sector. Speakers from Oman Logistics Centre encouraged the participation of SMEs in the logistics sector. They urged the SME logistics players to work hard and move up the value chain by placing a greater emphasis on a planned approach. Zubair SEC would like to thank the representatives from Oman Logistics Centre for an enlightening session.”
Ghadeer Al Alawi, Human Capital Analyst, Oman Logistics Centre said, “We thank Zubair SEC for extending us an opportunity to interact with bright minds from the centre. Tajribati is a great platform and SMEs can truly gain knowledge, obtain information, debate common challenges and get an understanding of happenings in various sectors. The centre has truly developed the culture of entrepreneurship in Oman and supported young Omanis to achieve business success.”
She added, “Logistics industry is a vibrant sector where SMEs can play a crucial role. There are myriad business opportunities that one can look out for in this sector and raise the value of the contribution of SMEs to the GDP. We encouraged to tap the opportunities in the sector as the country’s logistics strategy has set a very challenging plan to drive Oman to the forefront of the global logistics industry by creating employment opportunities and adopting new technologies and processes. We also provided them information on Oman Logistics Centre’s Ibhar incubator which offers incubation space, business support services and clustering and networking opportunities for aspiring entrepreneurs.”
Attendees of the session said, “The session on the outlooks in the logistics industry for an SME like me proved to be of enormous advantage. Such programmes will create a vibrant entrepreneurial scene across Oman and will encourage more local SMEs and start-ups to explore opportunities.”
