Aligning with the directives of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said to support small enterprises, The Zubair Corporation on Tuesday unveiled its initiative to support such enterprises in the sultanate.
The Zubair Small Enterprises Centre (Zubair SEC) initiative will encourage Omani entrepreneurs looking to start their own businesses and accelerate their route to success with financial, marketing and business support, a press release said.
His Majesty the Sultan, in his 2012 speech at the Oman Council, laid emphasis on developing human resources and supporting aspiring entrepreneurs, equipping them with the adequate education and training.
Commenting on the importance of development of small enterprises (SEs) in the sultanate, The Zubair Corp managing director, Khalid al Zubair, said, “His Majesty the Sultan has highlighted the significance of the SE sector and vital role it must play for the continued growth of the financial system of Oman in the years ahead. In line with the efforts of the government, it is our endeavour to promote small enterprises and empower them to contribute to the economy. As a representative of the private sector and a partner in the economic development of our nation, it is our venture to augment the efforts of the government. The Zubair SEC initiative aims to develop a vibrant culture of entrepreneurship via a programme of support which would in turn add benefit to the Omani economy,”
Zubair added, “Zubair SEC will be a vital force in developing the entrepreneurial culture in Oman. For one year, ten successful applicants will receive full backing and support from The Zubair Corporation with regard to their projects. As we launch the first stage of this programme I warmly invite all aspiring Omani entrepreneurs to attend our event and business workshop on June 1 to find out how they can enter the programme.”
