To help navigate entrepreneurial journeys better, Zubair Small Enterprises Centre (Zubair SEC) sent its member Naser Saleh Al Broumi to attend the 45th Apimondia International Apicultural Congress held in Istanbul, Turkey recently. Naser Saleh Al Broumi, founder of Al Broumi National Enterprises company which specialises in Selling and distribution Omani honey products, is a member of Zubair SEC’s Direct Support Programme for the year 2017.
The objective of the trip was to help Naser Al Broumi gain insights into the latest developments in the world of beekeeping and honey production. The aim of the celebrated Congress in Turkey was to collect, discuss and disseminate new information on bee sciences and technology around the world.
The topics covered during the Congress under the Beekeeping Economy sessions included Marketing and Branding; Sustainability, Accountability and Standardization; Global Economic Crisis and Beekeeping Sector; Honey and Other Bee Products Trade; Sustainable Marketing for Beekeeping; Innovative Bee Products and Marketing. Under the Bee biology sessions attendees learnt about Productivity in Beekeeping; Biodiversity, Bee Feeding (Nutrition); Bee Physiology Selection and Breeding and Bee Behaviour among others. Sessions on Bee Health; Pollination and Bee Flora; Beekeeping Technology and Quality and Apitherapy were extremely rewarding for the participants.
Naser Saleh Al Broumi said, “The prestige conference offered a great platform to gain knowledge, exchange experiences on various facets and to discuss latest developments in the beekeeping world. The programmes and workshops provided understandings on the many developments in research currently being undertaken in institutes across the globe.”
He said, “The trip was extremely fruitful, and I look forward to sharing the knowledge I gained in the Omani market. I am working on applying the expertise I acquired to my Al Broumi products.”

The Congress provided a joyous moment for Al Broumi when his honey product was tested by a well-known lab and was found to be of top quality. Al Broumi Honey has a product range of two types of pure original Omani honey namely Al Sumur and Al Sidr.

Zubair SEC’s team had earlier worked on the branding for Al Broumi Honey’s business aspect as well as for products packaging. The objective was to make the branding reflect originality and contemporary designs that would help sell the products to a larger market base.
One of Oman’s significant social responsibility initiatives Zubair SEC has always been in the forefront in assisting ambitious start-ups and entrepreneurs to grow assertively. Through Zubair SEC, its members have been having better access to knowledge, innovation and understanding of the market.
On similar lines in previous years, Zubair SEC had earlier sent its member Kathia Hamid Al Nabhani, founder and manager of Jana’en Al Hamra Private School in Nizwa, Al Hamra, for a trip to visit and learn from the experiences of leading private schools in Jordan. Moreover, to strengthen their business practices in the burgeoning tourism, Zubair SEC had sent Amer Al Rawahi, owner of Arabs Adventurers Company, to Spain for exposure to international experience.
